Sewer Authority Mid-Coastside

The Sewer Authority Mid-Coastside announced that sewer spills on the Coastside were at an historic low, zero in 2018, thanks to the dedication, hard work, and proactive measures taken by management and staff. As part of its 2017 Strategic Plan, SAM committed to making operational and maintenance changes to achieve zero sewer spills within the Coastside area that it serves. This achievement is the result hard work, training, and commitment by SAM staff as well as the support of the SAM Board of Directors. Beverli A. Marshall, General Manager The Coastside’s combined wastewater collection systems (owned by the City of Half Moon Bay, Granada Community Services District, and Montara Water & Sanitary District and serviced by SAM) consists of approximately 10 miles of pressure force main, 90 miles of gravity collection system piping and 17 lift stations. In addition, SAM owns and operates 6 miles of pressure force main, two miles of gravity sewer pipe, three pump stations, and a wastewater treatment facility.
