The Rancho Cordova Police Department Youth Services Unit hosts its annual Christmas in Cordova on Saturday, December 19, 2020. This one-day family event held at the future home of the Rancho Cordova Youth Center, 10455 Investment Circle, is designed with the simple premise that every child should have a present to open at Christmas. The event features a drive-through pick up of new toys hand-selected by RCPD officers along with gift wrap for parents for their children. The...re will also be special goodie bags, a drive-through winter wonderland, and Santa will be making an appearance. You can make holiday wishes come true by donating a new and unwrapped toy, gift wrapping paper and supplies. As Thanksgiving approaches, community organizations are doing inspiring things to ensure Rancho Cordova families are able to have a safe and happy holiday. The ...Rancho Cordova Food Locker held its annual Turkey Drive to collect donations leading up to its Thanksgiving dinner distribution to local families. Our Youth Services Unit volunteered at the Food Locker by helping to collect donations, followed by handing out the turkeys and other dinner items to 2,000 people. Serve Sacramento Inc. partnered with Grocery Outlet, Safeway, Smart & Final, and Center of Praise Ministries | Sacramento, CA to provide Thanksgiving dinner to Cordova Gardens Elementary School families. Local educator Twa'Lea Jordan is looking for children with entrepreneurial spirits. Registration is open for the next installment of her CEO Academy Entrepreneur Program. Youth will learn how to start their own business in addition to the fundamentals of planning and money management. Sessions culminate in a showcase of participants’ businesses. Provide kids with choices and make those choices nutritious. Pre-portion you child's snacks into small plastic bags to grab on the go.
