Good Morning, It is with deep sadness that we explain our abrupt and deep absence from the art world. Over the past year and a half, Dr. Thomas Sergott has struggled with his health. He suffered from a life threatening stroke leaving his right side extremely weak and many issues with speech and swallowing. He had multiple complications which landed him in the hospital and long-term care facilities for over a year. During that time, Ann Sergott, his beloved wife and a huge ele...ment of SCAA, nursed him back to health and sat by his side. She did not miss a day with him, following the Dr.'s notes, and making sure he had the best nurses and rehabilitation experts. Tom finally made it home after about a year and a half in facilities, culminating in being a part of the final days of the life changing Scripps Encinitas Brain Injury Rehabilitation. After battling with fatigue and what seemed to be a bad flu, Ann Sergott suddenly passed on due to an infection of her bloodstream on February 24th. Tom was horrifically widowed, yet weathered the storm with 24/7 care and diligent and loving nursing. Tom especially enjoyed viewing his gallery, savoring delicious flavors, regaining his walking strength, and watching the grandchildren in the pool. He passed with family beside him on June 19th. His continued Assistant Director Danya Ramos will stay on to be a part of SCAA. Dr. Sergott's daughter, Monica Sergott Moreland will continue on and take a leadership role with the gallery. She has recently returned from The Bay Area with her family. Mrs. Moreland has a MA in Anthropology from Stanford University and has worked in sustainability, education and technology. Monica will do her best to direct gallery collaborations, events and viewings, especially focused on best practices while leaving a strong digital footprint. Thank you for your continued patronage. We hope to see you on Instagram, Facebook, and at the gallery for an appointment this season. Sergott Contemporary Art Alliance is looking forward to shifting to the new norm of post COVID19 realities. Artists are beginning to emerge from quarantine, after cocooning with their art. We hope to share it with you and your world. Be in touch. Keep your eyes open and come enjoy and appreciate our talented artist's beauty. Thank you for your continued patronage and support. Please message us for information about booking an appointment. Sincerely, Monica Sergott Moreland
