Being a plant parent can be a lot of responsibility, but the extra time spent at home has encouraged many Sequoians to assume the role. Here are some of our favorite photos shared in our latest Plant Parenthood challenge!

Although we won’t be walking together like we were last year, distance won’t keep us from supporting causes we care about. We are honored to be supporting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's Out of the Darkness walk on Sept. 11 - 13 for the second year in a row. We invite Sequoia team members, family, clients, friends, and new friends to join more than 350,000 people virtually walking in 425 cities across the country in support of their mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.

Happy Women’s Equality Day 2020, Sequoia! Women’s Equality Day celebrates when women in the United States received the right to vote. This day also calls attention to the inequalities that still exist not only in the US, but internationally as well. The United Nations creates a theme every year for Women’s Equality Day. The theme for 2020 is I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights. Today we celebrate the intelligent and strong women at Sequoia that make our t...eam unique! What can you do to celebrate? Review upcoming elections for equal pay measures and paid family and medical leave policies. Zero tolerance for harassment and gender-centered jokes. With the help of @movespringapp, we hosted our first wellbeing challenge of the plan year called Jogging Into July! This challenge encouraged our team members from all over the world to remain active while working from home, resulting in these incredible stats: Collectively, we spent a total of 112,550 minutes getting active (78 days!) We traveled 10,780 miles (the same distance from San Francisco to England and back!) We took a total of 23,746,504 steps... 40 team members reached the journey by jogging 100 miles or more in 1 month Team members from our Bangalore, San Francisco, and Tempe offices each held top spots in this challenge. First place won a prize from @allbirds and our raffle winner received a prize from @casper! We’re looking forward to finding more ways to safely stay active while working from home - if you have any ideas drop them below!

Our Social Impact Program organized a backpack drive to support under-resourced 5th grade students this upcoming school year. The Sequoia team collected backpacks and provided essential new school supplies for children at Ravenswood School District in Menlo Park to encourage them to start the school year well and succeed! We encourage you to donate a backpack (or more) to your local school district to help lessen the impact of the Coronavirus on students, families, and teachers.

Happy Valentine’s Day, Sequoia!

About 1 year ago we celebrated the opening of our first international office in Bangalore, India. We couldn’t be more proud of the work this team has accomplished since the start and we are looking forward to the future with this incredible group of Sequoians!

We don’t let a milestone like this pass without celebration, so it was only fair that we went all out to recognize Jed’s 15th Anniversary with us. Thank you Jed, for being a great team member, leader, friend, and incredible mentor to so many Sequoians over the years. As mentioned in your toasts, you for sure for sure brighten up our days and make being a part of the Sequoia team that much more fun cheers to many more years with you on the team.
