NEW SCHEDULE FOR THE NEW YEAR!! We are extremely excited to add two more kids classes in 2020! Beginning January 2020, all judo practices will be held MWF. Additionally, we have removed our Saturday classes in order to give our students the opportunity to attend judo clinics and seminars from other dojo’s, without having to cancel class. . . First practice will be MONDAY, JANUARY 6TH! Start the year right and show up to practice!! All visitors and new-comers are welcome anytime. BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!! Beginning January 2020, Senshi Judo will be moving all practices at the Harper School less than 2 miles away from our current space!! We will roll out our new schedule before end of this month. Last practice will be Saturday, Dec. 28 so please come to practice and end the year strong!!

An AWESOME surprise gift from our Senshi parents!! One of our parents’ mother is a professional calligrapher and sent us our first banner all the way from Japan. We are so thrilled and grateful for this wonderful addition to our dojo thank you so much!

We are in deepest shock and pain to learn of our dearest friend’s passing. Jack: we will continue to honor your memory and remember you as the wonderful judoka and friend that you are. We can only regret that our time was too limited. Thank you for everything you’ve done for us, our dojo and our students. I hope you knew how much of a difference you made in so many people. You are the embodiment of Senshi a warrior, to us. We hope you are in a better place. The world misses you already friend

To all Senshi family, please don’t forget our poolside potluck on Saturday, 9/28! There will be no kids class or open mat on this day. Bring your swim gear and a dish to share, we will be grilling as well. See you all soon!

Yesterday was a very important day for Senshi Judo. Not only did it mark our first year as dojo but it was also our first promotion testing day. We want to congratulate KEN KAO, our very first student, for attaining his Gokyu or Green Belt! He has been with our dojo since the very beginning and has trained diligently to earn this rank. Ken successfully passed his lengthy test with flying colors; he has been consistent at practice, improved his techniques gradually, participated in various clinics, never took breaks from randori, and most impressively, withstood an entire grueling year as Sensei Moe’s demonstration partner. We are very proud of Ken and invite all judokas to please come by on our Friday practice (9/20) to throw I mean CELEBRATE Ken’s promotion!

We had the great surprise and honor of having one of the best Sensei Alex Fukuma of Norwalk Judo stop by during our Friday practice!! Thank you Sensei for breaking down the Osoto Gari technique to our novice students. It’s always refreshing to have local Senseis share their waza. We are very grateful and hope to bring our students to Norwalk in the future!
