Hey everyone I hope you’re all doing well and managing the best you can. We (at Senior Solutions) have been called and messaged a lot in the past week asking ...if we are still open and are still able to help. The answer is YES, we are busier than ever. We are still able to get private, trained caregivers into your homes to help with the seniors in your lives, we are still discharging patients from skilled nursing centers and getting them settled in appropriate care homes and assisted living communities, we are still offering support with questions and concerns to keep your loved ones safe. Yes, our physical office is empty right now but we are all working diligently from home to help you with whatever you need. Question of the day: Many Assisted Living communities and Board and Care Homes have instituted a policy of no visitors and I totally agree with this. What do we do if we are the ones who administer medicine to our loved ones? This question came up yesterday because a friend of mine administers meds to her mom (who is fairly independent but lives in a senior community) and they didn’t want her entering. Should these communities take over medication management, free of charge? My feeling is yes...I don’t think these communities should charge an extra fee because we are complying with their precautions. Your thoughts?

Another day of visiting seniors and bringing gifts! Today I popped in to visit a lovely lady (my friend’s mom) who just moved into her new retirement community. She was in the middle of playing bingo...so, I sat down and played awhile! Then she insisted I go check out her new digs and we hung out and ate See’s candy and talked and talked! What a fun job I have!!!

Special deliveries today for two lovely women who moved into their new assisted living communities this week. Flowers always seem to brighten spirits as well as new surroundings!
