If you qualify, the I.R.S. may accept this as a settlement thereby cancelling 100% of your old tax debt, A TAX DEBT YOU THOUGHT YOU HAD FOREVER. In addition to an OFFER IN COMPROMISE, the I.R.S. does allow for installment payments for back due taxes. Also, income taxes, penalties, and interest can be reduced, or even discharged, in bankruptcy. Plus, there is a "statute of limitations" which prevents the I.R.S. from collecting old tax debts.
