On behalf of the Sebastopol Little League board, parents, players and volunteers, we wish to extend our deepest gratitude to all veterans, current, retired and lost and their families for all they have given to our wonderful country. Thank you.

Nationally, it is possible that up to 1 in 5 kids may not get the opportunity to play sports next year, including Little League, due to financial challenges. To help address this, T-Mobile is currently donating $5 to a zip code of your choice, if you are on a T-Mobile plan. All you need to do is text "LittleLeague" to 313131, and T-Mobile will donate $5 - that's it. Well over $1 million has already been donated, and the cap is $2 million, so the program will end soon. There are no obligations for you to do anything else.

Hello Sebastopol Little League families, We hope you are doing well in these challenging times. Although baseball, and youth sports in general, are quiet at this time, the current Board of Sebastopol Little League is continuing to plan and prepare for when we can all be together safely playing baseball again! This time of year is when local Little Leagues build their Board for the upcoming season. Participating on the Board is a wonderful way to support an inclusive and rew...arding baseball experience in our community. For the upcoming season, we are looking to fill board positions. The roles will include: President Vice President Treasurer Secretary Coaching Coordinator Player Agent Marketing & Public Relations Director Safety Officer Fields & Facility Manager Sebastopol Little League will be holding its annual General Membership meeting virtually to build our new Board on Wednesday October 21 at 6PM. If you are interested in attending, please contact John Parodi ([email protected]) so that we can be sure to forward the meeting link beforehand. If you are interested in participating on the Board, also contact John so we can add your name to the voting process that will occur at this general membership meeting. If any of these positions are particularly interesting to you, please let John know as well. Also, plan on attending the general meeting. We acknowledge that participating at the Board level might be too much of a commitment, so be on the lookout for other volunteer opportunities from the league as we get closer to the upcoming season. We are excited to get back on the field with you and experience all of the wonderful benefits that youth sports, especially baseball, provide for our youth. Thanks & take care!

Dear Sebastopol Families, We hope that you and your families have fared well throughout these challenging times. As our board starts looking towards organizing Sebastopol's Fall-season Baseball, we want to announce Little League International's (our governing body) rule change for the 2020 season, allowing players to enroll with neighboring leagues, in the event that your local league's Spring season was cancelled. Sebastopol Little League did elect to cancel our Spring seaso...n, along with a handful of other leagues in our district. One of our neighbor leagues, Westside Little League, is planning on starting practices soon, in hopes that games will be allowed by the Sonoma County Health Officer in the near future. They are offering players from our league (in the Minors, Majors, and Juniors divisions) an opportunity to register for their 2020 Spring/Summer season, and have thoughtfully lowered their registration fee to be equal to that of the league wide-refunds that Sebastopol Little League is issuing. If any of you are interested in registering your child for Spring/Summer baseball, please check out Westside's website at wsllsr.com. If you have questions for their league about their Spring/Summer season, you can email [email protected]. There's the possibility for Sebastopol coaches to participate as well; email them if you're interested. Dear Sebastopol Little League community, It is with great consideration and regret that Sebastopol Little League has decided to cancel our spring season. Due to our county's Shelter-In-Place order we simply cannot safely proceed with baseball activities at this time. As you probably know, we are a volunteer run non-profit 501c3 organization and operate on a limited budget to provide the opportunity to play baseball in our community. As such, we rely on sponsorships, donations..., and registration fees to help fund those activities. Unfortunately, due to the timing of the COVID-19 virus and Shelter-in-Place order we received 68% less than our budgeted sponsorship and donation amounts that were expected for this season. As well, we have expenses (field maintenance, charter fees, insurance, equipment) that have already occurred, and others still to come. This has put us in a budget shortfall and forced us to dig into our savings to make up for most of the difference and to enable us to grant league-wide refunds. Unfortunately, due to this situation we cannot refund 100% of the registration fees without putting our organization in a financial position that would place future activities at risk. We will be preparing league wide refunds of 75% of registration fees and will be processing and mailing these refund checks on or around June 15. We will be mailing your refund to the address that we have in your registration account. If you have moved or have a different address, we need that information ASAP. We are also asking that you consider making a donation of your registration fees to Sebastopol Little League. Your registration fee would be 100% tax deductible. If you are in a position that you can afford to, and would like to donate your registration fee, please email us at [email protected]. We will send a thank you letter that serves as a receipt for tax purposes. In the event that modifications to our county orders are such that our communities can resume youth sporting activities, we will at that time address the possibility of a brief season, or the early start of Sebastopol Little League Fall Ball. Dear Sebastopol Little League families, In regards to the 2020 Spring Little League season, our Board of Directors still remains hopeful for the opportunity to play some baseball. We are closely following the updates from State and County governments in hopes for information that will allow us to continue our season.... At this point, we're two weeks away from our originally predicted re-opening of the season. We are expecting updates from State and County health departments, as well as Little League International, later this week. Once that information is announced, we can continue to map out our season according to those updated guidelines and restrictions. Dear Families of Sebastopol Little League, As the world adjusts to the impacts of the Coronavirus, Little League too has made adjustments to this season. Falling in line with school closures until early May, and following the recommendation of Little League International, Sebastopol Little League has made the decision to postpone all League activities until May 11, 2020.... However, as more information from our Local and State Health Departments is announced regarding the spread of COVID-19, this date could change. Little League International has quite a few resources on their website addressing the Coronavirus pandemic. The health and wellness of our Little League community is our highest priority. As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to develop, we are closely monitoring the guidance from Little League International, the CDC and local health officials. All Sebastopol Little League activities are suspended until April 6, including Opening Day Ceremonies. More details will follow soon. As this situation continues to evolve we will work to update our community with information relative to ...Little League as it becomes available. District 35 Inter-league (50/70 and Juniors Divisions) is still considering postponing the March Opener to April 6th. More details to follow. Let’s play ball!!!! ******************************* The Sebastopol Little League has this year sadly lost one of it's most treasured equipment items to old age, a ride-on mower that was used for dragging the fields at Laguna. If you have one you no longer use and would like to donate it to a great cause, we would be thrilled to have it! We do have a very small budget for this, so could possibly purchase a used one. If you know someone who might be willing to sell their mower at a greatly reduced price, please let us know.
