Getting ready for Valentines, so I painted my wreath Red! Take something old and make new!

My front door Christmas swag! I really like the whole rustic farmhouse trend right now but also for its old fashioned timeless appeal to a simpler time..I had envisioned a swag on a rustic shutter-I could not locate a shutter in the craft store so I knew my daughter had one in her room so I borrowed it to use over the holiday season. I had purchased these 3 gold plastic bells from the dollar store detached the bow and holly and primed them the painted them with a barn red spray paint inside and out. The end result makes the bells look somewhat vintage. I just wanted to crest something simple with greenery and ribbon. I just attached everything by inserting the sprigs into the openings of the shutter. Here is the finished product!

Remember weeks ago when I was making my own Red Truck? Here is is finished and used in a rustic farm box to be utilized as my table scape centerpiece.

Just completed our front door decoration!

Greetings friends! I have been on a quest now to find that elusive Red Truck planter to add to my Christmas decor.. I have checked both Michael's and Hobby Lobby but alas no luck I did find it on eBay and or Amazon but I don't want to pay $80 or more. So last week while on an errand to Target while browsing the Fall decor what do I find but an orange and brown metal truck. It was only $20 not as large as the one I had in mind but all good. I will make it work for what I need while crafting on a budget. I bought some acrylic paints for 70 cents per bottle at Michael's and now I have what I need to execute my decorative plans.. see pics below!

My new best friend for only $3.95 at Home Depot. Gold spray paint!! I just turned a faded green artificial boxwood wreath a new lease on life for Fall by spraying it gold. Good as new!!

We are currently 2 months away from Christmas and the stores are gearing up for the biggest shopping season of the year. Not only for shopping for Christmas but the decorating season is getting bigger every year. Now is the time if you haven't already start to plan your decorations for the Christmas season. Now is the best time to get what you want where both Michael's & Hobby Lobby are fully stocked while clearing out their Halloween and Fall merchandise. I paid a visit to the local Michael's and Hobby Lobby locations to see what's new in the world of decorating.. Enjoy!
