Lewis) Personally / professionally, this statement has massive application for all of usespecially, I’d wager, for those of us working in sales. I’ve noticed how a lot of us are prone to feel intense pressure to be liked, to establish rapport or else, or to conform to an image we believe customers expect of us. Without going too deep, I’d argue this tendency stems from a lack of confidence in oneself or one’s abilities. So I‘m definitely NOT saying there isn’t enormous benefit to developing your skills as a sales professional (e.g. scripts, role-play, influence techniques, active listening, etc.). What I am sayingmy point in writing thisis that I’m me, you’re you, and the only way to be original is to perform the part each of us has been born to play. You’ve got massive potential so get over yourself and step up.
