Interfaith Homeless Shelter Volunteers Needed July 15-29, 2019 First UU Church of San Diego - Hillcrest Campus First UU Church of San Diego is hosting a new LGBTQ-focused branch of the shelter July 15th-29th and will provide housing and meals for up to 12 guests at a time. Active Shooter Training Tuesday, July 9, 2019 12:30pm-2:30pm First UU Church of San Diego Hillcrest Campus - in Bard Hall We will be holding an active shooter training for church staff and all interested members and friends. Our facilitator will be Carey Brooks of the City of San Diego's Homeland Security Department. Carey has specifically tailored his presentation for Houses of Worship. He is a dynamic speaker and has a wealth of experience and knowledge in this subject.

Urgent! Volunteers Needed First UU Church of San Diego - Hillcrest Campus As a part of the sanctuary commitment at First UU Church of San Diego, we have volunteered to be an emergency overflow shelter for the San Diego Rapid Response Network's migrant shelter. We need volunteers who are willing to be on-call to spend the night (9pm-7am) at the Hillcrest campus. First UU will be on-call nightly to house up to 30 people who have just been released from Immigration custody and are awaiting their travel plans to sponsors throughout the U.S. Volunteers will help set up cots, show families where to sleep, wake them up, and help put cots away.
