Geology licensure webinars for students Inbox Racca, Laurie@DCA Thu, Oct 1, 11:59 AM (1 day ago)... to Laurie@DCA Good Morning, Due to travel restrictions implemented as a result of the COVID19 pandemic, the Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists is now offering online webinars that may be of interest to your students. The Path to a Professional Geologist (PG) License begins with the Geologist-in-Training (GIT) Certificate. Mondays at 12 noon October 12, 19, 26, November 9, 16, and 30 December 7 and 14 This webinar is intended for college students or recent graduates. This webinar will provide introductory information about the Geologist-in-Training (GIT) certificate as a step on the pathway to a Professional Geologist license. Additional webinar topics along with information regarding how to access the webinars is provided on the Board’s website here: https://www.bpelsg.ca.gov/online_services/index.shtml The Board will continue to offer webinars on selected licensure topics and the schedules will be updated periodically. If you have any suggestions or questions, or if you would like to schedule a school specific webinar at a time convenient for your students, please contact me. Your Opportunity Stantec's is currently seeking an Associate Level Engineer, Geologist or Scientist to support our team of professionals on environmental site assessment and remediation with emphasis on oil and gas projects at terminals, pipelines, pump stations and refineries. Your Key Responsibilities Manage multiple tasks simultaneously as the client’s representative. Adherence to the approved scope, budget and schedule are imperative. Communicate daily with the project team and clients as needed. Oversee complex site assessment and remediation projects with multi-person project teams. Perform pre-field preparation for on-site projects including development of health and safety documents, coordinating with subcontractors, and obtaining permits. Conduct field work (about 60% work) which will consist of conducting tailgate health and safety meetings, completing utility clearance for sampling locations, supervising drilling activities, preparation of soil boring logs, groundwater monitoring and soil vapor well construction logs and the collection of soil, soil vapor and groundwater samples. Support environmental and other related site assessment and remediation projects by providing field support, data management, interpretation, and technical assistance.
