Stay on your guard against the misery of catastrophic thinking and "what if's". Be present in the moment. Stop and breathe, check-in with your self and make sure you are well, body, mind and spirit.

This sentiment echos the majority of our nation’s HERO’s. Please keep them in your prayers that the Human Behind the Badge may feel loved and supported when they look into your eyes. A simple wave, thumbs up, or a kind word will serve their hearts well.

My heart is still in Fishers, Indiana. This video was made by Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officer Ron Shelnutt, after Ofc. Koopman & his partner K9 Harlej ...were chasing armed suspects during a pursuit in November of 2019. K-9 Harlej was deployed to find the suspects and while he was searching in a wooded area, Ofc. Koopman & his fellow officers heard the sound of gunfire. K9 Harlej had been shot & killed by the suspect. 3 suspects were collectively charged w/ more than 30 felonies in connection w/ a string of violent crimes that occurred over 7 days in Indianapolis, including murder. The death of Fishers Police Department K-9 Harlej marks the first line-of-duty death in the department's history. Just to illustrate the kind of evil that existed in the suspect, once captured, the suspect made sounds of shotgun being racked followed by boom sounds several times, in an attempt to hurt the officers. However, that suspect’s evilness was overshadowed by the light, grace, compassion & goodness that Jarred possesses. Jarred forgave the suspect, never allowed him to control his outlook & perspective, nor did he allow this tragedy to define him. Jarred now has a new K9 partner named Rico. I had the pleasure of meeting Jarred, his incredible wife & their beautiful children. I witnessed the beauty & power of growth & healing when a department sticks together through traumatic incidents. The remarkable men & women of the Fishers Police Department & those who attended our training from surrounding agencies, had a profound impact on me, one I will never forget. I cannot wait to see them all again soon! @fisherspolicedepartment @the108brand

Our hearts are with our brothers and sisters from the LASO. We stand in solidarity with you. COMPTON (KGTV) - Two Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies were shot at a Compton train station late Saturday in what the department is calling an ambush-style attack. A 24-year-old male deputy and 31-year-old female deputy were shot as they sat inside their patrol vehicle at the Metro Blue Line station at Willowbrook Ave. and Oak St. just before 7 p.m., according to the department.... The department said both deputies sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were taken to St. Francis Medical Center, where they underwent surgery. Both deputies were out of surgery as of 10:30 p.m., but their conditions remained critical. "They are both still fighting for their lives, so please keep them in your thoughts and prayers," LASD wrote on social media. The department said early Sunday morning that the shooting sparked protests outside the hospital emergency room where the deputies were transported. The demonstrators screamed "we hope they die," the department said. Two people were arrested at the protest

This is a helpful and insightful article. Please share it with other's. These are very difficult and challenging times for our profession, but often times we forget about the pain and fear our family members are feeling.

A great book for kids by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman about Police Officers. I gave the book to my LEO nephew for his five year old daughter.
