Well THAT was an amazing day! Despite the rain, a few technical glitches, and one or two temporary food shortages, what looked to be somewhere in the neighborho...od of 1,500 eager participants got shoe-horned into the social hall and sanctuary at Poway's Temple Adat Shalom, with some spilling over into the parking lot to take advantage of the kosher grill and wine/beer garden. Between the food, music, food, crafts, food, dancing, food, celebrity chef demonstrations, food, flights of wine, and more food, everyone involved had a wonderful time. Planning has already started for the next Jewish Food Festival. Watch this space for additional details the moment they're available. Many, many thanks to Unicorn Jewelry, Streeter Printing, and Barons Market, and Herzog Wine Cellars for their sponsorship. Heartfelt appreciation to San Diego Party Rentals, DJ Bumps, ART 120 Grand, Vintage Wines, Sunshine Care, Twin Peaks Dentistry, Metro Flooring, Jewish Family Services, Team Hat, and Freda Heller for their support. To all those who joined us, thank you for spending a soggy Sunday at the San Diego Jewish Food Festival. We apologize for any inconveniences, and hope you had as much fun as we did. For those unable to participate yesterday, please plan to join us for the next one. And if you have any thoughts on how we can improve the festival, please let us know. Because as good as it was, we know we can do better. http://www.sdjewishfoodfest.com/feedback.htm.

"It's raining. It's pouring. The food festival won't be boring." Fear not, fair reader - we've already planned for the possibility of rain today and we're moving the food and fun inside. And we've got tents and pop-ups (LOTS of tents and pop-ups!) for those who want to hang out outside. So, as Grandma Bertha used to say, "You shouldn't vorry for a ting!" We've got you covered...literally...and the San Diego Jewish Food Festival is on-track to be an amazing time.... The festivities all start in a couple of hours, and you want to make sure you get there early to get the greatest choices of meals and take-home goodies. Need more details? http://www.sdjewishfoodfest.com. SEE YOU SOON!

If you've heard the rumors of rain tomorrow, you may be thinking "YUCK!" But as we say in the old country, "FAWGEDABOUDIT!" Here's stuff you need to know: 1) The San Diego Jewish Food Festival is going on, rain or shine. ... Sunday, May 7th, 11am-6pm, Temple Adat Shalom in Poway. 2) We have LOTS OF CHICKEN SOUP and other comfort foods. 3) Chicken soup and a day of fun and friends is the best medicine, according to mom. Baked goods are a good substitute. 4) For 48 hours straight, the entire Food Festival Committee has been doing their patented, guaranteed results, "RAIN RAIN GO AWAY!" dance. It's worked so far, and we're not done yet. 5) On the off-chance it does rain, you should: A) Plan to come early B) Dress appropriately C) Know these things never last long (it's southern California, for heaven's sake!) D) Plan to stay at least until it ends...maybe longer E) Let a smile be your umbrella After a year's worth of planning, you DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS FESTIVAL for what...a coupla lousy raindrops? The fun starts in just over 24 hours, and we're all looking forward to a day with lots of fun, frolic, and fantastic food. Don't forget to bring your tickets or pick them up at the WILL CALL table. And if you haven't bought your tickets yet (or need more), they're available on-site. THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN! We'll see you there. http://WWW.SDJEWISHFOODFEST.COM.
