The San Diego IWW is increasingly involved with incarcerated worker support. So this story from San Francisco comes as no surprise. Last summer, during surging COVID19 cases, we found out that soap was being withheld at Donovan CF. We were able to change that with a couple stern phone calls.

There can be no peace so long as hunger and want are found among millions of the working people and the few, who make up the employing class, have all the good things of life. Between these two classes a struggle must go on until the workers of the world organise as a class, take possession of the means of production, abolish the wage system, and live in harmony with the earth." Damn. It doesn't say a thing about Joe Biden fixing everything. I guess we still have work to do.

Michael Moore did not mention IWW, but despite the fact we have been around since 1905 and can fairly be lumped in with the rest of the movements that Moore correctly says have failed, we do have a multi-generational membership which includes a large contingent of the youth who Moore identifies as our best hope.
