2020 has been a challenging year for all of us. We hope you and your loved ones are staying healthy and safe. Usually in December, SDCWA holds an in-person holiday luncheon to raise funds in support of local families in need. The luncheon was cancelled due to the pandemic so SDCWA is trying to be innovative. Thank you to all who participated in the SDCWA fundraising tea on Saturday, September 26, whether you purchased a tea box or made a donation. We appreciate your support in these unusual times when we can't gather together. During these uncertain times, SDCWA regrets that we will not be hosting our 5th Annual SDCWA Afternoon Tea Fundraiser event in person this year, but we are very happy to announce that we will be partnering again with Marlene's Tea & Cakes (http://marlenesteaandcakes.com/) for an "Afternoon Takeout Tea" Fundraiser on Saturday, September 26, 9:00am-11:00am! Last year, S...DCWA granted over $26,000 in scholarships and philanthropic grants to organizations such as Read/San Diego Literacy and Just in Time for Foster Youth, including a $4,000 donation to the San Diego COVID-19 Community Response Fund. The upcoming year will prove challenging for all charities and philanthropic organizations, including SDCWA, because we may not be able to hold our usual fundraising events.
