Happy Monday! We hope everyone had a fun and eventful weekend. Just a reminder as we move into this week that it's okay to FEEL! As humans we can experience a range of emotions, sometimes all at once. It's important to reflect then let these emotions come and go!
Thank you Neurochild Community for the graphic

This #thankfulthursday, the Center would like to give a special thank you to The Nordson Corporation Foundation for their generous gift in supporting the renovation of the Fergusson residential cottage! Located on our main campus in Linda Vista, The Fergusson Cottage is part of the Center’s Short-Term Residential Treatment Program (STRTP), which provides 24/7 intensive care and oversight for at-risk children ages 6-18. The Center’s STRTP is the only licensed residential treatment program in the region for children ages 12 and under and serves youth with the most significant mental health needs. Stay tuned for a ribbon-cutting and video tour coming soon!
Today is the last day to register! You are not going to want to miss this one! Join us tomorrow, October 22-23, for a two-day virtual workshop: The Ripple Effect! This workshop presents an integrative framework for understanding and communicating across systems about how trauma can affect a child, a family, and a system as a whole. Register now with the link in our bio now!
We are so thankful and proud to be apart of this amazing solar project! Stay tuned for a Center-wide press release with more info!
Yesterday was a very special day at the Center's main campus! We kicked off the week with a powerful drum circle and flag-raising ceremony, celebrating kindness, unity, and community. Staff and youth center-wide were able to participate both in-person (safely social distancing of course) and over a live stream. We are so proud to raise a flag that stands for so much! It reads Science is Real. Black Lives Matter. No Human is Illegal. Love is Love. Woman’s Rights are Human Rights. Kindness is Everything. Swipe to view some great moments that we captured!
Happy #thankfulthursday! This week we wanted to take a moment to thank Luc and Kristen Barroso for these amazing handcrafted pillows! Practicing sewing as a positive coping skill, Luc is a former residential youth who also attended our SDCC academy. When we asked him about his inspiration for crafting together these pillows, he expressed wanting to make something that could provide comfort and support for our current residential youth. Every pillow is accompanied with a special note and drawing from Luc. Thank you Barroso family for this thoughtful and comforting gift!
