Silver Dollar BMX

SD BMX hopes you and your loved ones are remaining safe and healthy. We know everyone is itching to start in on their 2021 points but we're going to have to wait at least a few weeks. Repairs are needed on the track and we're expecting a significant amount of rain over the next 5-7 days. Whereas the rain is a welcome sight for most, it delays us in the stuff we love to do... Ride!... We'll keep everyone up to date with the progress as we can.

During our 2-week break, take a moment to read the upcoming changes for the 2021 BMX season. There really aren't many changes with the exception of the 12 and under flat peddle requirements. If your rider is 12 and under, regardless of class (proficiency), they will need to run flat peddles. USABMX announced this upcoming change back in 2018 and it's now going into effect Jan 1, 2021. This is in line with UCI rules as well.

Well folks, tomorrow ends the BMX season for 2020. Unfortunately, the track recieved too much rain and will not be safe to hold practice tomorrow. Thanks for sticking with us through this interesting and challenging year. Thanks for your support when we could race and thanks for your understanding when we couldn't race. We have great hope for the upcoming year and have some great ideas for our track.... Stay tuned and see you next year!

We're going back to Cali for the #howmanydays countdown to tthe #greatestraceonearth. Chico has become a hotspot for BMXover the past several years and this track has a lot to do with it! Just 40 days to go!

A handful of our local racers took the trip up to Caldwell Idaho over the weekend for the Northwest Gold Cup finals. The competition was tough, the weather was awesome and for the most part the air was clear. These and many other riders traveled all over the Northwestern United States to race their fastest races and qualify for one of the Gold Cup plates. After getting a minimum of 2 races in, they had to remain consistent over the weekend to be able to claim their spot o...n the podium. Help us in congratulating the following riders. This week, Franklin Construction began grading work for the relocation of the Silver Dollar BMX facility out at the Airport, next to the Westside Little League Baseball fields! The City of Chico has led the effort in organizing this work, with a vision from City Manager Mark Orme and the Chico City Council, with design being ...completed by City of Chico Public Works - Engineering staff. Franklin Construction's donated service will enable the move of this youth sport, so that the current City property at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds can be better utilized to assist in providing housing space for those who are currently unhoused. Santos Excavating will also be donating labor, equipment and material to assist in making this property functional for the BMX folks! It continues to be impressive to see local businesses and people step up to provide needed support on solutions, all the while providing youth amenities that enhance our community!!! See more

Good evening, we hope everyone safe and healthy. Please understand that we've done everything we could but unfortunately our state qualifier scheduled in September has been cancelled. It's still showing as a valid race on the USABMX website but we anticipate that to be removed within the next day or so.... We're as bummed as everyone else and we were hoping we could run it. Just not in the cards this year. Thanks for your understanding and patience as we all navigate through these challenging times. Stay safe!

Good morning! Oak Creek Bmx will be hosting a SQR/Gold Cup event for the Aug 1st/Aug 2nd weekend and they are looking for some help. If you can help in any way, please message their FB page and let them know. Hello All -... We are looking for volunteers to help us with our State and Gold Cup Qualifier races. As you all know, it takes a village to run these races and we need more hands on deck than usual. If there is anyone that has any interest in helping us out, please message the FB page privately and we can tell you what positions are still open each day. We will also be giving single point race credit for future events to our volunteers. TIA
