****update to the update to the update**** . Decker has been found!! hug your pups closer tonight. Thank god we found him safe and unharmed . ***Update to th...e update****... Initially it was believed that Decker was found.. but no one has been able to locate him. If you’re around Black Bear/Telluride please keep your eyes peeled. **** UPDATE!!**** Decker the 10 month old Black Lab has been found safely! As was his younger brother Ripley! Please keep the two injured people in your thoughts and prayers, and never forget to use your parking brake. There was a roll over on the switchbacks on Black Bear today. The driver of the vehicle was spotting another vehicle when his manual Jeep slipped out of gear. He grabbed onto the car attempting to keep it from going over the edge but the momentum was too strong and he was pulled over the edge with the vehicle. The passenger was ejected and has sustained significant injuries. Both were responsive when EMS arrived and have been transported to medical facilities. A 10 month old black lab named Decker was ejected from the vehicle and to my knowledge hasn’t been found yet. If you’re in the area please keep your eyes peeled and stay safe!!

UPDATE......just got text from aunt. They are all safe. Sheriff is letting them in to Airport Flat area and get the RVs -‘d such. Thank you everyone. Prayers... answered!! Hello! My husband, brother, uncle and group of out of town Jeep friends went onto the rubicon trails this past Tuesday prior to fire. Went in through Loon Lake side to trek through/play, stay 2 nights at campsite on the trails and come out Tahoe side today. My husband, his brother and uncle know the rubicon extremely well! Their rigs are capable of the trails and they would do everything to help anyone in the trails. I’m posting to see if anyone might have seen them/their rigs? We called El Dorado Co Sheriff and informed they were seen Wednesday late afternoon! But I don’t know where at. We filed missing person reports. They have CB radios on them. Anxiously waiting to here from him. The blue Jeep is now spray painted black with red ECV grill, red roll bars, red Jerry cans on the back. The orange Jeep is uncle’s. Picture of my husband (Rich) and brother (Cameron).

In response to the Fork Fire at Gerle Creek, El Dorado Department of Transportation has CLOSED the Rubicon Trail at this time, until further notice. El Dorado S...heriff's office has stated: The decision to close the Rubicon Trail, which is a county maintained road, is at the sole discretion of the El Dorado County Department of Transportation. Currently, the Sheriff’s Office does not have the resources to staff or enforce such an order if one should come about. If staffing levels do allow for the patrolling of the trail, and the order to close the trail has been made, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office will take a position of education. We cannot and should not tie up what resources we do have available on the trail with specific incidences of the violation. Further, first responders have been deployed throughout the state dealing with existing emergencies. If an emergency did occur on the trail, the response to it may be lacking, delayed, or nonexistent, and people who choose to travel along the trail in violation of such closure order should do so with caution and that understanding." Translation. Just don't go. If you decide to break the closure and go anyway, and you die, it's your fault. Personal responsibility. Right now the wind is blowing West, the command center is at Airport Flat Campground. This is good news for the trail. Let's hope they get this down quickly.
