I had the great opportunity to meet the Nigerian British artist fashion designer Yinka Shonibare and attended his show in Europe 2019. What a phenomenal brillia...nt talent that could rock the Steampunk world. He is creating Victorian fashions that are perfection right down to the bustle; however exclusively in Dutch Nigerian fabrics...so they explode with color and pattern in a way that screams Bohemian Afrika! His show took my steamy breath away and I thought here’s a fresh ifea that could rock our world with color and Afrikan American Steampunk people would love along with the rest of us....I am seeing a fashion show at Steamathon! -Doc See more

This is not a photo - it's the work of embroidery artist Cayce Zavaglia. Cayce started out as a painter, but she switched to embroidery nearly 20 years ago. ...All Cayce's work is hand embroidered using cotton and silk thread or crewel embroidery wool. From a distance they look like hyper-realistic paintings, and only after closer inspection does the work’s true construction reveal itself. You definitely have to check out Cayce's website to see more of her work - you will be impressed. https://www.caycezavaglia.com/embroideries #threadpainting #needlepainting

The researchers learned that folium isn't a dye similar to those extracted from other blue flowers and fruits. And it's not like indigo dye. Instead, folium is an entirely new class of dyes.
