I guess this is a second big goodbye. We have now officially closed all of our brick and mortar locations. This photo was taken on our grand opening day, July of 2018. We only had this special store and brand for a little over two years- but in truth it feels like 10 years. We have survived flooding, fires, COVID19, and more fire. This year was the tipping point for us, we had to reflect how much of ourselves could we actually give to this store- and we were left with a very ...painful answer. We are still in awe that we had the opportunity to build something so special that people from all over the world got to experience in person- it was.extraordinary. Last month we realized that ultimately two people cannot do everything, even if they want to. Oliver and I wore many hats at one time and took on more responsibility than I could have ever imagined, and at the end of the day we were left to ask ourselves, what is this for, and what is left? How do you enjoy your life while also giving everything you have to something you built while facing extreme natural disasters and hardship? I was never able to successfully answer that question, but what I do know is I do not regret it and am still amazed at the people I have met along the way. I had the immense pleasure of meeting such special staff and customers and friends that held us up and were rooting for us from day one. I still often reflect on the incredible makers and brands that we had the pleasure of working with over the last two years, whether is was visiting their personal studio or meeting in New York at various trade shows. This was an intimate and special experience that we will never forget. This feels extremely incomplete and unceremonious to say goodbye via Instagram, but on the same token I hope that you will still follow us as we are working on future independent projects and would love to share it with you. We rely heavily on USPS to deliver our treasures to you and now that this is blatantly happening before us we must stand up whatever way we can !
