Well, this one is a long time coming, and I am ridiculously excited about it!! The concept has been approved for awhile now, but I just got the green light to share it with the world. There is a new development in Vacaville that is entering it's final stages of approval. It is going to be a vibrant gathering place called "Orchards End" with restaurants, boutiques, and a brew pub. (One of its tenants is another client of mine "Hank & Hazels"!) This will, by far, be the highe...st profile logo I have ever done. If you have ever driven to the Bay Area on I-80, you have probably seen the sign for "Tony's" restaurant (on a very tall, red pole) on the west side of Vacaville. When construction on that property is finished, This logo will be on the top of a huge new monument sign there. It will be seen by tens of thousands of people every single day. I am so humbled and grateful to Andy & Sarah Harper for choosing me to help make their vision come to life. The Milk Farm, The Nut Tree, and now Orchards End. Whoa! Let me know what you think!

I primarily create logos for new businesses. It is always exciting to give these upstart enterprises a dynamic new identity as they launch. However, from time to time, a well established company, with a long history of quality (and an image that has been cultivated for 50 years) discovers it is time for a refresh. That is weighty work, and a massive responsibility that I take VERY seriously. All Weather Architectural Aluminum recently entrusted me with such a task. Third gene...ration ownership wanted to update All Weathers image to reflect a company positioned for the future. They wanted to keep a ‘monogram’ of sorts in order to pay respect to the past, but They wanted the brand to more closely reflect the clean architectural lines and high quality of their gorgeous custom window and door products (Manufactured for high end residential and commercial projects). Oh, and they wanted its icon to ‘tell a story’ Look closely and you will notice how the design of the A & W depicts a window in the process of being built. I am showing off the newly reimagined All Weather Logo by posting a rare "Before & After" combination so you can see where they have come from, and were we are going. Let me know what you think! I begin the design process for each logo with a crystal clear understanding that the unique piece of art I am about to create will be the first chapter in telling a story, and the first step in building a brand. However, this project is a fascinating instance in which the logo is designed to encourage people to RE-write their story . . . and change their lives for the better. My good friend Tony Overbay is a registered marriage & family therapist. He specializes in couples counseling, mens issues, anxiety & depression. Tony's new venture is a cutting edge, online program designed around Faith-based Addiction Recovery. I was privileged to help him construct the name for the program, as well as develop the logo. I will post a link to his new site as soon as it is available. In the meantime here is a preview of his new logo!

An old friend and colleague of mine, Joe Cucchiara, is the host of an entertaining and informative daily radio show focused on Anything and Everything Real Estate. In order to take his show to the next level, Joe decided to rebrand and relaunch with a new name and a new logo! I consider it a true privilege to have worked with Joe and his team to design this custom logo in order to more accurately reflect the tone and content of the radio program. "Real Estate Radio Live" can be heard in the Bay Area Monday - Friday, 3 pm - 4pm on KDOW am1220. You can also access all his outstanding content at www.reRadioLive.com!

From time to time logo concepts hit the cutting room floor. I just rediscovered this one I did some time ago as a quick idea for an old friend of mine. The company she was consulting with decided to go in a different direction, but I always thought the stylized double helix icon was pretty cool. Not a bad finished product for a bio-tech service business . . . especially one with such a long, nondescript name.
