Several friends and clients have asked about the impact of the new tax code and its possible impacts on their income tax deductions... and many are considering pre-paying their property taxes prior to the EOY. Some fodder for thought: "The IRS is warning taxpayers in new guidance issued Wednesday that they might not be able to deduct their prepaid 2018 property taxes on their 2017 returns. Taxpayers expecting their bills to rise because of the new tax law's restrictions on d...eductions for local, state and property taxes have reportedly rushed to prepay taxes for 2018, hoping to do so before the new law takes effect. But in an advisory issued late Wednesday, the agency said that the prepaid taxes are only deductible if the property taxes are both assessed and paid in 2017." As always, I'd advise to check with your own tax professional to see what's best for your own personal situation, but hope this info is helpful in making sure you are informed.

This was a special sale in every sense: I appreciated the great clients to work with (both parties); an amazing survival right at the edge of the Canyon Fire; miraculous evacuations of neighbors; a community drawn together, and now abundant signs of renewal and new life. Just received the bittersweet news that the sale of 2059 Albury is completed and recorded. It was my grandparents' home. It was where we played shuffleboard on the side yard. It was where I learned to hone my hook slide skills down the middle of the linoleum kitchen floor in my pajamas. It was Christmas dinners. It was watching the Dodgers. It was catching up with family. Closing day. Thank you Gary P. for choosing me from a host of candidates to assist in selling your aunt's estate. It was a tall task with difficulties in both location and condition, but happy to report we sold it in 7 days for an all-cash offer above your anticipated/hoped for price. New owners are thrilled, as well. :-)

Closing day! Congratulations to Kris and Stacia on the purchase of your first home. My most enjoyable moment (there were many): the excitement in your son's voice as he pointed out, "MOM.
