Happy 2020! Stanislaus County Office STEM is proud to partner with Girls Who Code (GWC) to support girls’ participation in STEM programming across our community. Girls Who Code Clubs provide you with FREE after-school curriculum and resources to help 6th-12th grade girls build important life skills as they join a sisterhood of supportive peers, learn about inspiring female role models, and learn how to use computer science to positively impact their community. All you need ...is space to host the Club, computers and internet, and an adult who is 18+ to facilitate the Club (no coding experience needed!). GWC will take care of the rest -- with flexible and easy-to-use plug-and-play curriculum for all skill levels, a designated virtual GWC Club Success Specialist, free t-shirts, and a mini-grant of $300 for snacks, supplies, robots, and more! To access the free Clubs curriculum and resources, visit the GWC Clubs website and click Start a Club to fill out your quick 15 min Clubs Application, and indicate your affiliation with Stanislaus County Office of Education as a Community Partner to receive additional benefits! Participants will unpack log-jam scenarios, discussing the role of the principal in removing the log-jam or barrier presented. The scenarios will be based on real-life NGSS implementation challenges experienced by teachers and administrators in districts and schools.
