We’ll still be holding today’s group vocal warmup class, but today’s class will be extended past our 30 minute session. In addition to singing, the second portion of class will be used to discuss the ways to use your voice. With everything going on in our country, many people are asking themselves how they can best use their voice - and that will look different for everyone. Our primary belief, here at Scholz Studio, is that we are all entitled to use our voices, and that we should spend the time getting comfortable doing so. This is not just about learning to sing. It’s about exercising the use of your voice, in all ways. To learn about yourself, to advocate for yourself, to advocate for others, and to speak out against injustice. It’s time, again, to speak out. We stand with our brothers and sisters. #blacklivesmatter

One of the biggest goals of this studio is to encourage an open and confident use of each students’ voice. A voice a key to inner truth. We can make our voices heard through discussion, singing, speaking out, and voting. (Among many other ways) Having our voices heard is one of the greatest privileges as American citizens. So this Election Day, we hope you confidently let your voice be heard through your vote.

A back-to-school message for my school-aged students, and their teachers! (Also, their parents, who also need and deserve as we navigate it all!)

Not where they are geographically, of course. But every lesson is an individualized safe space for each person walking into the room. That means a safe space for where everyone is with mental health, as well as physical health. Lessons look different for each individual, and they look different weekly, based on where that person is when they show up. That’s the beauty of private lessons. It’s personal.
