We escaped to one of my favorite places for a local backpacking adventure. Point Reyes National Seashore has campgrounds scattered throughout the park, ranging in distances from about 3 - 10 miles from trailheads. We got lucky with an available campsite at Wildcat Campground and hiked in from the Palomarin Trailhead. (Majority of the trails and park are currently closed due to a fire)... The trail is parallel to the ocean, hugging the sea almost the entire way. We took a quick break at Alamare falls and then made camp tucked right behind the beach. We were able to hear the waves crashing from our tent! What's your favorite spot around here?
