A project to upgrade traffic signals at six intersection’s in Santa Cruz/Monterey Counties will begin on Sunday June 13. This project will include lane closures at the intersection of Highway 1 and 41st Avenue in Santa Cruz on Sunday, June 13 or Monday, June 14 during the overnight hours from 9 pm to 6 am. Over the next two years, the County will create the first Active Transportation Plan for unincorporated areas of the county. The Active Transportation Plan will provide a roadmap for future improvements for walking and bicycling in areas like Davenport, Live Oak, Aptos, Rio Del Mar and the Green Valley corridor, with the goal of making it safer, easier, and more fun to walk and bike in your neighborhood. HIGHWAY 9 SOUTH OF FELTON TO CLOSE MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY NEXT WEEK FOR MAINTENANCE WORK Caltrans winterization roadwork along Highway 9 south of Felton will result in a full closure of Highway 9 between Paradise Park (Post Mile 1.25), and Glengarry Road (Post Mile 4.75) next week. The schedule of the closure along Highway 9 will be from Monday, Oct. 12 through Friday, Oct. 16, from 6 am to 5 pm.... There are no houses or side roads within the closure area. CHP personnel will direct motorists to detours on Graham Hill Road or Mount Hermon Road. Motorists can expect traffic delays up to 10 minutes. This roadwork is necessary to remove damaged trees and to reduce the incidence of mudslides in preparation for winter storms.
