For Destiny, receiving this scholarship meant gaining new confidence and financial security. I worry about money a lot. Paying tuition can be stressful and confusing. As a first-generation student, the fact I don’t have to worry about the cost of textbooks provides relief. I’m ...very grateful for that. ...I feel like the underdog. Knowing that I have a donor group behind me, it is such a good support system. It may not seem like a lot to the outside, but indirectly, it gives me the strength when I feel discouraged. Destiny is in her final year of community college and aspires to graduate from a four-year university with a Psychology degree. Scholarships like these assist her and so many others obtain the resources they need for success and allow them to focus on their goals without worrying about added financial hardships.
