Sailors have long traditions in rope work, often beautifully presented. Not all of you might be aware, that also the people in the engine room sometimes use rop...e, and that they have their own very specialized set of knots. I do believe this splendid example have been shown here before, but for the benefit of new members, and without further ado: See more

Six years ago we (South Bayfront Sailing) began sharing the wonder and beauty of the two-masted schooner Bill of Rights. In January, it looked like this was going to be a successful year with a calendar filled with planned sails and activities from April thru December. January - March held aside for maintenance and such. The boat is looking better than she has since before we got her. The Davis family have donated new sails that we hope to fit and raise. New crew membe...rs were volunteering. We're now the official tall ship for Chula Vista and had planned a lovely "Maritime Week" celebration to kick off our season. And the virus struck. No sailing, programs or income. Every sail, event and program planned, will have to be scaled back and re-designed if they can happen at all this year. Meanwhile, Don and a few stalwart volunteers keep the boat safe and continue working (within the health dept guidelines) on vessel maintenance. We sincerely hope that we can have a great 50th birthday celebration for the Bill of Right in March 2021. See more
