Tips for the Creek Fire: If you have been evacuated, contact your insurance agent. Most homeowners & renters policies cover expenses such as hotel and meals that exceed your deductible. Save your receipts for reimbursement. ... If you have not been told to evacuate but want to be prepared for an evacuation gather all of your important documents such as birth certificates, social security cards, passports and keep them ready to grab and go. Take photos and videos of each room of your house, including the garage. Remember to document drawers and closets too. When evacuating (if you have time): Leave your lights on so firefighters can see your home in smoky conditions. Shut off the air conditioning. Shut off the gas at the meter; turn off the pilot lights. Don't leave the sprinklers or water running, they can affect critical water pressure. #CreekFire

In that’s what it has been every day, small steps. Those small steps into uncertainty and getting out of our comfort zone is how we create our life path. I have been in the insurance industry since I was 17 but never dreamed I would have my own business. I thought I would be someone’s as...sistant all my life. But all my life I have has a curiosity in life. I would ask... but why is it done like this, but why, but why, but why. I learned so much this way about business and life in general. Did one of these things happen to you this year?? Did you move? Get Married? Get Divorced?... If so, you want to update your life insurance policy. Sometimes we forget to update our life insurance when these things happen. You want to update your address so any changes & updates can be sent to the correct address. With marriages and divorces sometimes you may want to update your beneficiary (who gets the money if you die). I've seen money go to the ex spouse instead of the new spouse simply because they forgot to update the policy. whoops! Don't forget to have a contingent beneficiary. This is the back up person/people if something happens to both you and your beneficiary at the same time.
