You never know what you're going to learn in our sessions...In my last session I used two cues that had absolutely no reference point for my client: schlump and "like a dog on a fire hydrant." I explained it during the session and then sent him some supplemental materials after He has now declared "schlump" to be his new word of 2021. In other news, this is a very bizarre drawing I found when trying to get an illustration of a dog peeing on a fire hydrant. The internet is scary folks, research at your own risk...or just book a private session with me and learn all sorts of randomness

Teaching Roadkill... all in a days work

This pic was 7 years ago today Wow has she come a long way! In our session yesterday she effortlessly popped up to standing and said "That is so easy for me to get up off the ground, was that always so easy? "... I reminded her that when we started she said that she thinks she'll have to stop cleaning spills on the floor because she's afraid she won't be able to get back up again. What an incredible difference! Strength, confidence, freedom, and delight at her own capabilities. If I can help you with any of that, send me a private message P.s. I miss hugs

There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle. The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt is awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.- Albert Einstein What miracles are you noticing today?

Tonight is the start of Tu'beshvat, the Jewish celebration/new year for the trees. I sent this picture to my dad of my beloved Saba planting a tree in our homeland, Israel, and my dad said "look how flexible he was, must have secretly been doing Pilates" I don't think so, BUT, he did have lots of rituals that are now being studied and proven (scientific method style, in to of the experiential wisdom style) to maintain and enhance health. That, amongst many other reasons, makes him the genius, forever hero, love of my life.

I've already talked a bit in previous posts (and more in depth if you're on my newsletter list) about the power of getting your sunlight. But there are a couple other (amongst many) reasons why going for a walk is an effective mood booster (using a slow scooter or wheelchair would be just as effective, so no worries on mobility). Ocular Flow: the passing of objects/environment across your eyes as you're walking. This helps shift the nervous system of of a stress response... Panoramic Vision: this is the vision we more naturally employ when we're relaxed, but it will also induce a state of relaxation. This is especially important now that we spend even more time staring at devises (opposite of panoramic vision) Short version: go take a walk, it's good for you. If you want to learn more about how to use these "mood hacks" and others, sign up for my list and learn all about it this week https://sarakay.ck.page/get-strong
