Spring is HERE!
St Andrew’s Preschool is a faith based, nature inspired play centered preschool. We are devoted to a child centered environment, where learning comes from the children’s interests. St Andrew’s kids are ready for the next step of their education by focusing on the whole child, their spiritual, emotional, cognitive and motor development. Open registration begins Monday March 22 from 1-2 pm. Contact the preschool at 949.574.2232 or [email protected] for more information.
Listening to our worship team and dancing the day away!
We like to discover, create and garden at preschool.
At Preschool Chapel today we read the story The Tale of the Three Trees. It is such a wonderful book, maybe one to add to your home library.
Sorry for any inconvenience but preschool will be closed today (12/3) due to the fires.
The after school program had a feast and time of reflection with the older kids. They talked about what their thankful for. A very special moment for the kids and teachers.
Hey Parents! Have you checked out our outdoor classroom? We believe that children can do everything outside that they can do inside and more! We have been developing our outdoor spaces to engage children’s wonder, curiosity, and learning, as well as give them an opportunity for a more hands-on experience with God’s creation. We are looking for parents that have an interest in outdoor and natural elements like gardening, landscape design, carpentry/contracting skills, and those that just love and value outdoor play to join our Outdoor Classroom Parent Committee. All skill levels are welcome and we willmeet once a month. If you would be interested email Janice at [email protected]. We can’t wait to work with you!
We Chapel. We sang, danced, prayed, and learned the story of Noah.
Kids are learning some many things through playing with blocks: Problem solving: Sometimes it is intentional: I want to build X. How do I do that? Other times it is in-themoment: To go higher and add to one side, what can I use?Peter Pizzolongo Imagination: Children can follow their own plan, or they can share a friend’s vision and work together to create something they never dreamed of.Karen Cairone... Self-expression: Blocks offer many ways for young dual language learners to explore, express themselves, and demonstrate what they are learning across languages. Karen Nemeth Mathematics: Important concepts and skills are practiced and strengthened through block play, including length, measurement, comparison, number, estimation, symmetry, balance.Kristen Kemple Continuity and permanence: Block play engages spatial sense and motor abilities; it can be a solo or a group effort; block creations can stand for an indefinite period of time.Lawrence Balter Creativity: Blocks and other loose parts can be moved freely by children, to be combined and recombined in countless ways.Angela Eckhoff Science: Blocks offer opportunities to test hypotheses and build scientific reasoning.Gayle Mindes Self-esteem: Children discover that they have ideas and that they can bring their ideas to life by creating, transforming, demolishing, and re-creating something unique.Holly Bohart Social and emotional growth: Blocks help children learn to take turns and share materials, develop new friendships, become self-reliant, increase attention span, cooperate with others, and develop self-esteem. Kathleen Harris Development in all areas. Block play requires fine and gross motor skills. Blocks enhance children’s problem-solving abilities, mathematics skills, and language and literacy abilities. And constructing creations builds selfesteem and feelings of success. Linda Taylor
We’re so busy learning, exploring and socializing with our friends and teachers.
