Covid-18 (Corona virus) Update Like other institutions locally and worldwide, we are taking steps in the light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. We feel strongly that the health of our visitors, volunteers and staff is our top priority. To that end, we will:... Immediately close to the public effective today (till March 31st) when we will re-evaluate the situation; With the closing of all Santa Barbara County public schools all school tours will be cancelled and rescheduled as soon as possible; Volunteers will be notified of the closing so they are not put at risk; All staff will continue to come into the Museum to work unless instructed otherwise for cost savings cost or due to ill health reasons and asked to work virtually if possible; Rigorous health precautions will be enforced daily. We are monitoring the situation daily and following the recommended guidelines of local, state and federal public health agencies. This page will be updated to keep you informed of what's happening at the Museum. The Museum’s Board of Directors and staff are working on short, mid-range and long-term plans for operations as the global pandemic continues to unfold with the hope it does not.
