Santa Teresa Farmers' Market

Today we were informed by Kaiser Permanente San Jose (who graciously allows us to use their parking lot), that due to the growing concern of Coronavirus COVID-19, the Santa Teresa Farmers' Market will be CLOSED until further notice. We, the Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association, are advocates for our farmers and food access and do not take this closure lightly. While we are disappointed with the closure of the market, we are also committed to keeping our communities safe and will comply with this direction. As the situation changes we will be posting updates on the Santa Teresa Farmers' Market. We encourage you to visit our other farmers’ markets in the meantime, which are listed on our website. Thank you for your support and we hope to be open again soon.

Today the Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association (PCFMA) is stepping forward to join thousands of other nonprofit organizations around the nation in public opposition to systemic racism and to say that Black Lives Matter. We believe that not only is it possible to build a more just, fair and loving society, it is essential that we do so. We understand that this statement is just one step toward that end, and we will make an ongoing effort to grow and develop as an organization in hopes that we never again have to kneel with those mourning the loss of a life stolen by racism. Please help us support local farmers through this difficult time by writing Governor Newsom, your local County Health Department, and your city officials to allow farmers’ markets to operate as an exception to the Governor’s executive order like grocery stores. Yes the farmers' market is open. Farmers’ markets are essential food resources and we are committed to keeping them open for as long as possible. We are advocates for our farmers and food access. However, our current priority is keeping communities safe. If we are instructed to close a farmers’ market by a local health authority, we will comply.
