Santa's Village

Just popped up on Facebook. Great picture of our mushrooms!

For anyone curious about what happened to the property after the park was shut down, my mom's friend bought the land (speaking of the 1980-mid 90s.) Growing up ...in Scotts Valley, I grew up on this property which had a home, barns, stables, arenas, pastures, and trails - and we boarded our horses there for years. This was my second home. I believe this structure is what was the home they lived in, and this courtyard was the the life of the property. They were forced from the property due to Eminent domain, but my whole family believes this should have been a historical site. I'll never forget the relics of the old park - big iron Christmas trees, dilapidated elf homes, random mushrooms throughout the property. How lucky were we growing up in the 50s’, 60s’, and 70s’ and to have visited one of our childhood fantasies. . Santa’s Village in Scott’s Valley. The first pic...ture is my big sissy, Marie, and I with our very close family friends, Mary Fazio and her nephew Gino Rinaldi. I’m tagging Jo Fazio Amoroso as I’m wondering where she was as she was not with us that day circa 1963 or 64. The third picture is my parents circa 1971. Though I only visited twice, I remember how magical and special it was!! A treat for the whole family to enjoy. I would love to hear your memories of this whimsical place. See more
