The sunset yesterday at Dillon Beach was magnificent! It made me reflect about the sunset of our life. I am 57 years old and I reflect a lot on how to protect myself and my family in the (pre-sunset ?) of our lives. Maintenance issues are typically not covered on your insurance policy. We receive multiple calls asking about coverage for items that were just not maintained like an overgrown tree, water damage from worn caulk around the shower pan, or this panel on the photo above. Can you rebuild the same house after a fire? What most of our clients forget to do is to let us know after they remodel their home so we can increase the building coverage. After many years it can leave a home very under-insured! We recommend that you notify your agent immediately and that you have a review of your accounts at least once a year. After the California fires in the last few years we still see houses insured for $200/foot! You should ask a contractor you know and trust what a house similar to yours would cost per square foot to rebuild so you are confident in the coverage limit you have. Thank you to all Americans! As a French immigrant to the United States, when I watched a 95 year old D Day veteran share his souvenirs this morning I had tears in my eyes. I am so deeply grateful and thankful for the sacrifice made by thousand of soldiers!
