Congratulations to Dakota Zaugg, our 2021 Club Champion trap shooter! Dakota also won both of the 100-target events today. All scores are posted to the web site on our "Shoot Results" page, and photos will be posted to photo album titled "2021 Club Championship." Thanks to all the shooters, workers and volunteers who put on a great shoot.

The annual Club Championship Trap Tournament will be on the 4th of July this year. Entry fees for the two 100-target events is $25 per event. Both events will shoot Handicap. Lunch is included.

The Kiwanis charity shoot is always a great time at the club.

Kiwanis Charity Shoot is coming up next Sunday, June 13, and it always proves to be a fun time.

Around 50 new and experienced archers came out for our Archery Grand Opening and BBQ today. Club Director Mike Hardy put on an awesome shoot. Big thank you to Scott at Central Coast Archery for bringing a field full of fun archery targets and helping with set up and instructing. One favorite event was shooting the flying target with "flu-flu" arrows (video below).... Photos from the day are now posted to a photo album.

Thank you to the over 20 squads who entered the Central Zone ATA tournament this past weekend, and to all the workers and volunteers that worked so hard to put on the shoot. Scores are now posted to the web site.

SMGC is proud to host the 2021 CGSTA Central Zone trap tournament May 22-23.

What a successful weekend! The SMGC youth program competed in their first Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) tournament in Atascadero last Saturday and all shooters did an unbelievable job. The team won trophy buckles for intermediate, intermediate advanced and JV categories, and also won three ATA yardage buckles. Our SMGC team tied with the Atascadero team for High Club with a score of 470 x 500, but unfortunately lost the long run tie-breaker quite an accomplishm...ent for their first tournament. We can all be proud of the way our youth team represented SMGC. Congratulations to coaches Josh Signorelli and Wayne Hampton, all the team parents and our team sponsors, and our Youth Trap Program Director, Ashley Moniot. Looking forward, Santa Maria Gun Club will host a state-wide SCTP tournament Saturday, February 20, 2021 at our club.

Thank you to the 53 participants who came to shoot and all the many members who came out to support the club and enjoy the BBQ. We wouldn't be here but for our great member participation. We apologize for running out of food before the last members got some, we were a bit overwhelmed by how many members showed up. Congratulations to the winners of the 2020 Christmas Party Club Shoot yesterday. Keith Baker took the 1st place prize, and Doyle Thomas and Randy Holman tied for ...2nd.
