The Santa Cruz Sheriffs Office Search and Rescue team, in conjunction with Monterey Bay Search Dogs, the California Highway Patrol and California State Parks, rescued a gentleman that had been lost in the woods for about two days. Our search teams found the missing person approximately 2200 feet from any nearby trail or road, deep in the Santa Cruz mountains. Our search teams included our mountain bike team, ground searchers, a canine area type search dog team, off-highway vehicle team, and many support team members. The hoist to safety for the missing gentleman was completed by a CHP’s helicopter.
