Curious what an outdoor yoga in the redwoods class is like? Read this student testimonial! (and find more testimonials here: http://www.santacruznatureyoga.com/student-testimonials.html). Pic courtesy of I [Heart] My Life "I recently attended my first "Yoga in the Redwoods" class with Becky in Aptos. I wasn't sure what to expect from an outdoor yoga class. Would people walk by and stare? After parking, we walked together a short ways along the road and then took a path to the... right that descended briefly before opening up to a postcard-perfect tree-and-fern-lined clearing that was completely secluded from passersby on the road above. (So, no pointing and whispering spectators -- yea!) As we spread our mats in a semi-circle around Becky, I was filled with the natural beauty of the place she had selected: nearby the creek burbled cheerfully, overhead birds sang, and rays of sun shone through the trunks of the towering redwoods making everything glow with diffused light. It was the most beautiful yoga studio I've ever experienced -- what a perfect place to breathe and stretch and relax! I'm fairly confident I would have been hard pressed to have a bad yoga experience in that ancient clearing, however, Becky's gentle yet authoritative teaching style ensured that the class was as productive and restorative as any I've attended. The flow of the class felt natural, Becky's directions clear, and her adjustments gentle and respectful. After an hour (and savasana on the soft forest floor gazing up into the canopy -- what a treat!) I walked back to the parking lot and on to the rest of my day restored." -- April Stearns, Founder & Editor, WILDFIRE See more
