Santa Cruz City Rangers

Thanks to those who came out to help with cleaning up Sycamore Grove on Saturday! With 6 volunteers and 3 staff members we cleaned 1860 lbs of trash!

Many thanks to this awesome group of volunteers who last week helped secure our city's water quality with a cleanup along the San Lorenzo River in Sycamore Grove. Together we pulled nearly 2 tons of trash from the river and riverbed!

We have noticed a recent increase in the number of unpermitted creek crossings in our parks. These crossings are not only illegal but they are disruptive to the natural cycles of the creek, act as a dam, increase the rate of erosion and cause sedimentation downstream. It is in all of our best interests to look after the health of our city’s waterways.
