Santa Clara High School Boys' Soccer

To answer a few questions. The JV Head Coach Andreas Wedderien will take over as the Varsity Coach this year. Andreas has professional playing experience when he played for Hertha Berlin in Germany. He is the former Head Coach at Foothill Tech High School and is currently coaching with the Pro+/ODP program. He is a very experienced coach and the team is in good hands.

Coach Raab will have to step down this year due to personal matters. Raab took over in 2011 after the Saints went 0-15-1. Raab led the Saints to a record of 70-71-12, 6 playoff appearance, 3 League Titles, a CIFSS title, and a State Regional Runner-up. The three time League Coach of the Year and 2017 CIFSS Coach of the year will still support the program as a part-time assistant coach.

The Saints play in their first game of the season at home vs Buckley High School. Varsity at 2:30 and JV at 4pm. Go Saints!!

Congratulations to Issac Carbajal, Sean Lima, and Christian Rizo who will represent Santa Clara in the Senior All Star Game this Saturday at Cathedral High School at 12pm.

Unfortunately our season has come to end in the CIFSS Quarterfinals. After tying the game 1-1 and going two OTs we lost in PKs (7-8). I am so proud of my team and the boys really gave their all. We are young and will be back at it again next year! Go Saints!
