How can you work with your spouse? Yes indeed Dr. Charity Duncan and Dr. Parag Kachalia are married and working together is really all that they now. Dr. Duncan grew up in Oregon and Dr. Kachalia grew up in the heart of Silicon Valley. While they come from two different areas and two different backgrounds, their families are very similar. In fact their mothers have same birthday and both parents always worked together. They met nearly 20 years ago while they were in dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco and always has a singular goal of taking healthcare back to where it should be. @drkeertienso recently asked what’s trapped in your camera? While I have 100s of images trapped in my camera here is one I finally set free for my presentation @seattlestudyclub symposium last week. This is a minimal prep e.max restoration where the occlusal table was simply softened. This restoration was part of a full mouth rehabilitation, so we were able to be primarily additive versus subtractive. I’m all about preserving as much natural tooth structure as is reasonably possible, yet giving patients the confident smile they dream of. Customized treatment planning: When this patient came in for his smile consultation he mentioned he wanted a more natural look and he felt his lower teeth were too short. During a thorough examination we noticed extensive lower anterior wear and a collapsed vertical dimension. We decided to open up his bite by redoing all of his crowns on the maxillary arch and placing no preparation veneers and veneer onlays from 2nd bicuspid to 2nd bicuspid on the lower arch as well as m...inimal prep onlays on the 1st and 2nd molars. We used a mix of monolithic and cut back e.max as well as MT Multi Zirconia that I will discuss in a future post. Kudos to @regosmiles for the beautiful laboratory work on this case.
