Before coming to the range, please look at our calendar to make sure we are open. We need Range Monitors to keep the gates open, and without them, we will either close early or not open at all. If you are a Club Member, please make sure to volunteer and become trained as a Range Monitor, otherwise, the gates will remain locked & closed.... https://sfarchers.org/events/calendar/

**IMPORTANT TEMPORARY RANGE CLOSURES** Due to a mountain lion encounter this evening, Monday August 17 at 6 pm, SFA is temporarily closing the walking ranges and the 100 yard practice field. These are also known as the Red, White and Blue ranges. SFA is waiting to hear back from the Dept. of Fish and Wildlife regarding the matter. This is not a step we take lightly, but as always, SFA's primary concern is that of the safety of all archers on the range. At this time, no one was hurt, and we hope that by closing the walking ranges, everyone will stay safe. The practice range, kiddie range, and alley will remain open at all times that we have a monitor on duty.

We are pleased to announce that SFA is opening...with a few caveats. Please read the announcement on our website for details. If you are a member and would like to help keep our range open, please contact our Membership Coordinator.

We know how much all of our members miss having the range open. Members of the Board and some key individual members have been working extremely hard to help get the range ready to open for the rest of the membership and public. We are very close to re-opening SFA, but in order to re-open, we need the help of our members. Volunteers will help dictate our re-opening. ... Please read the SFA newsletter, the Arrow, for more details. We will post more information soon.

Hello All, SF Archers is still closed at this time. We are working very hard with the City & County of San Francisco as well as the San Mateo County Health Department to get our range compliant with the requirements and guidelines for COVID-19. Safety is our first and foremost concern! This has been a lot of work, made even harder as we have to severely limit the number of volunteers who can work at the range to ensure proper social distancing protocols. In normal times, we u...sually have 20-30 people per month helping just doing regular maintenance. Now, it is just a fraction of that, and they doing a lot more nearly every single day!!! You can read about some of the protocols and see the hard work that's been done so far. (We still have work left to do!) Thank you for your patience and understanding. We know that many of you are extremely eager to get back to archery; we are too! We hope for good news soon, so please stay tuned.

SFA newsletter article May 2020 President’s message S.F. Archers are feverishly working towards getting our Range re-opened. That reference may or may not be appropriate. But seriously, we are waiting for a response from S.F. Recreation & Parks Department to see if our Re-Opening Protocols plan document will be accepted as submitted. Simultaneously, there is a core group of Board and general members spearheading the Range modifications necessary for re-opening. We are w...Continue reading

Calling all TRADITIONAL ARCHERS!! NOPE, I have nothing really exciting to tell you. BUT... I know we all miss shooting our bows and will be missing this year's Pacific Traditional Rendezvous and our annual photo! This year, let's put together a virtual collage... SIP, bow in hand! Please send me a current SIP photo of you and yours with your bow by Saturday, April 25th at 5pm and I'll post our group photo on Sunday! A recent photo of you out on a range is fine too. Feel... free DM me or post it in the comments and I'll compile them all this weekend. Thank you... I hope all my fellow archers take a few minutes to do this and please SPREAD the word! I would love to see pictures of everyone, especially those we haven't seen in awhile!

Please take the time to read an important message from the SFA President! Read the full message in the link. SUMMARY: SFA was notified by SF Rec & Park that the closure shall continue until the end of April and then re-evaluated. It is important to know that our range operates under the authority of SF Rec and Parks and the City of San Francisco. We are in standby status until we receive permission to resume operations. PLEASE DO NOT ignore the closures signs on the entry gate. DO NOT go to the Range to shoot your bows & arrows. You would not only be jeopardizing your own personal health and safety, you will be jeopardizing the future of the Archery Range.

For the health and safety of our Members / guests, and in consideration of the local policies in place to prevent the spread of COVID -19, San Francisco Archers (SFA) is suspending all operations at the archery range until further notice. No Members or guests may use the range, for any reason, until the all clear is given. Until then the gate will remain closed and locked. Local government agencies have recommended these measures stay in place until at least April 7, 2020. SFA Board members will continue to monitor the situation and will advise the membership as the situation unfolds. The health and safety of our Members and guest remains SFA's first priority. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
