PLAYGROUNDS WILL BE REOPENING ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13! We have been working hard since the California Department of Public Health released its playground reopening guidelines. We’re printing signage, installing hand-washing stations, stocking supplies, removing fencing, opening restrooms, and getting our protocols tuned-up. While playgrounds will look the same, things are going to be different. While we know you are anxious, we appreciate your patience as we implement the... final steps necessary in order to re-open. For the health and safety of our children and our community, we are depending on you to follow the rules set forth by the CDPH. We do not have the ability to monitor all of our playgrounds for compliance and we cannot possibly disinfect each playground daily or in-between use. We are doing our best to present the rules, provide some sanitation and open restrooms, and are disinfecting playgrounds at least once a week, but keeping these playgrounds open is ultimately up to you. Lastly, it’s important to remember that while guidelines are in place, sharing high-touch equipment still poses a risk to contracting COVID-19. Please pay close attention to all posted health and safety guidelines, respect the capacity for each playground and amenity, and limit your use to 30 minutes if others are waiting. For more info and updates regarding our playgrounds, visit www.redwoodcity.org/playgrounds

We’re not ready yet. The California Department of Public Health recently released guidance providing direction on usage of outdoor playgrounds to support a safe environment for children and families. We understand you are eager to visit our playgrounds, but we need some time to prepare for this important undertaking. Based on the updated State health guidance, we’ll need to determine the number of people allowed at one time for each of our playgrounds, develop appropriat...e signage, designate waiting areas by each playground, mark spaces within playgrounds for distancing, establish equipment cleaning procedures, provide hygiene areas, and take other measures. Please visit the CDPH website (link below) to start familiarizing yourself with the requirements that all visitors must comply with. We are now in the process of developing our reopening plan for playgrounds in Redwood City. Thank you for your patience over the next couple of weeks as we put a plan in place that best serves the health and safety of our community. http://bit.ly/CDPHPlayground
