We’re seeking motivated individuals for a new summer internship program! Apply to become an Internship Navigator to serve as the liaison between our high school interns and park staff. You will also gain experience leading programs and activities in this resume- and experience-building opportunity. Photographer Hanna Zhao captured Hooded Mergansers at San Dieguito County Park over the weekend! Fun fact: Males are called drakes and females are hens. They can fly at speeds approaching 50 mph and are able to find prey underwater by sight.

Meet Zeus, a Bearded Dragon (Pogona barbata) residing at San Dieguito County Park. His species is from Australia, so he’s a non-native, but he was born in capti...vity in the United States and is living the good life as an animal ambassador with our ranger team. Zeus is between 6 and 8 years old. His tail is almost as long as his body! The term bearded refers to his ability to flare out his skin when he feels threatened. #themoreyouknow #wildwednesday
