12-year-old Ethan, who lives with a nervous system disorder, has spent many years watching his brother and cousins play without him on the upper level of his backyard, an area with lots of space, but limited accessibility for someone in a wheelchair. The heart of Ethan’s wish was to gain access to the area and add customizations so he can enjoy it. The yard received a new wheelchair ramp and multiple sensory components geared specifically for Ethan, providing a safe, comfortable place to play and relax. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!- Ethan’s Mom Special thanks to Make-A-Wish San Diego's Emerging Leader Council who fundraised to sponsor Ethan's wish Register for our Wish Heroes Celebration on November 20th to hear more wish stories like Ethan's. https://one.bidpal.net/wishheroes2020/welcome

15-year-old Jade is an aspiring musician who loves to play the violin and piano. With Jade’s passion for music in mind, she wished for a violin of her very own and lessons to further her music career. For Jade’s wish reveal our local Wish Hero, the San Diego Padres, offered to host the big surprise. Jade arrived downtown thinking she was going to have a picnic with one of her wish granters, suddenly her favorite song Vivaldi’s Summer started blasting through the stadium spe...akers. With tears in her eyes, Jade looked up to see a video of her parents on the big screen, reminding Jade of the warrior she is and letting her know that today is her big day. Jade was then presented with her very own violin and within moments she fell into a perfect melody. Join the San Diego Padres and become a Wish Hero today. Visit www.sandiego.wish.org/wishheroes and register for our virtual Wish Heroes Celebration on November 20, 2020.

When Darren from was diagnosed with cancer, his football teammates shaved their heads in his honor and kept him company throughout his treatment. Darren could have wished for anything, but his wish to give back to his community and replace his team’s tattered, old jerseys with brand-new ones speaks to his generous nature. Make-A-Wish San Diego helped Darren to find hope and joy in a tough situation, which resulted in bringing an entire community together. Help make wishes like Darren's come true today! www.sandiego.wish.org/wishheroes #tbt #wishsandiego

Wish Heroes Wanted. Join Make-A-Wish San Diego for a virtual Wish Heroes Celebration as we recognize almost 40 years of providing hope-filled, life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We’ll showcase the transformative magic a wish brings to superhero children fighting their toughest battles, as we celebrate our diverse community of supporters and wish heroes like you! As the world is impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of children diagnosed with cr...itical illnesses continues to grow, and our commitment to granting life-changing wishes has not faltered. Currently, our chapter is looking at a potential loss of $1.5 million dollars and we have over 330 kids in the pipeline. What they need now is the hope that a wish experience can provide. This is a virtual event and is free to attend, however REGISTRATION is REQUIRED. Please consider making a Wish Hero Gift and register to attend using the link below: www.sandiego.wish.org/wishheroes

WISH GRANTED! 17-year-old Sara wished to have an adaptive tricycle to allow her some freedom and mobility. Sara loves to be around people, and a big part of her wish was wanting to have her community there to celebrate with her. Make-A-Wish San Diego was able to arrange a car parade to drive by Sara and her family as she enjoyed her new tricycle. Sara was happy, smiling and full of joy the entire day. Special thank you to Vista's BIG Give for helping make Sara's wish come true! Make-A-Wish America

Thank you for making this day special and unforgettable. You all worked together to make this happen, and I know Tiba will remember this for the rest of her life- Ali, Tiba’s dad Thanks to our friends at Cox, Tiba’s wish to have a gaming computer is GRANTED! Cox equipped Tiba’s computer so she can play online with her friends, record videos for her YouTube channel, and work towards her goal of becoming famous! Tiba’s wish day was full of awesome surprises too! It began with a trendy customized space to host her wish, outfitted by our friends at Pacific Event Productions. She was also surprised when her wish adopter Cox Communications set up a Zoom call with professional gamers at Atlanta Reign to help her get started, and upgraded her WIFI for better streaming to keep up with the pros! #communitypartners #makeawish
