CALIFORNIA COALITION OF ENDURANCE SPORTS UPDATE!: We need your help to amplify our collective voice in advance of the upcoming Informational Hearing on the Safe and Equitable Reopening of Sports scheduled for Wednesday, March 17 from 2:004:30pm in the Assembly Chambers of the State Capitol in Sacramento. The hearing will provide an overview of the guidelines and laws governing California sports, plans for safely reopening secondary & post-secondary athletics, Title IX consid...erations, lessons learned from professional sports and their future plans for COVID-19 safety as well as recreation & youth sports plans for returning to competition. We've crafted a petition on Change.org to articulate our position on re-opening endurance events in California. Now we need your help to sign a d share this petition far & wide and reach as many supporters as possible by March 17!

March 16th COVID-19 Update - San Diego Century With the interest of our riders and cycling community in mind, we want to share the current status of the 2020 San Diego Century Bike Ride. We are in communication with the San Diego Health Officials, our partner cities, and San Diego County on the spread and containment of this virus. While we are optimistic about our May 16th event date, we realize that there is an increasing possibility that we will not be able to have an... event on that date. We're planning for the event, as well as planning for potential contingencies and options. Our goal is to decide in early April as to whether we will hold or postpone the event. If we are not able to continue with the May 16th date, the ride will be rescheduled for a date in the fall that works for our city and county partners. Dear Fellow Riders, With an eye on caution and prudence, and after speaking to our host sites, cities, and San Diego Health authorities, we are taking this proactive step to postpone the 2020 San Diego Century Bike Tour currently scheduled for Saturday, May 16 to its new date of Saturday, September 26. The courses, host site, and challenging climbs that you have become familiar with and are currently training for will stay in place. The Three Witches climbs and the Purple Mo...nster time trial will also remain and be waiting for you in September. We understand many of you have been training, planning travel, and booking accommodations for this event. We want to offer you some flexibility by providing a few options as we work through this challenging time together.. 1. Participate in the new September 26, 2020 date. If you’d like to choose this option, select the ‘Stay in the race on September 26, 2020’ on our homepage of https://www.sandiegocentury.com/ 2. Transfer your entry to our virtual rideSingup for this option on our homepage and complete your ride by September 26, 2020. For more information on the virtual ride, please visit this page: https://www.sandiegocentury.com//SanDiegoCent/Page/virtual 3. Transfer your entry to Bike the Coast on October 10, 2020. The 33-mile SDC riders can transfer to the 25 OR 50mile BTC ride. The 67 Mi SDC riders will transfer to the 50 Mile ride. The 102 Mile SDC riders can transfer to the 50 or 100Mile ride. To chose one of the three options, please select your option on the homepage of sandiegocentury.com. Follow the prompts to add your email or login and then finalize your choice. For option one and two, no further action is needed. For people who chose option three, we will reach out to confirm which distance you want to transfer to for Bike the Coast. Please choose one of the three options below by April 1. If no action is taken, then you will automatically stay in the event for the postponed date. We are currently looking forward to a more reasonable and stable fall period for this event.
