It has been well said, "Do not go to an Easter service to hear the best news in the world without bringing someone with you who needs to hear it for the first time." Make the day count!

Join us this weekend for one of the most important studies you will ever consider. "Is God Unjust" comes from Romans 9:14 and will settle once and for all whether God saves by unconditional election or whether salvation is by the will of men. You will not want to miss this study of the word of God.

In keeping with this weekend's sermon the following by Jim Elliff is very helpful. Seven laws for running the [Christian] race. 1. Run to win: Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize (1 Corinthians 9:24-25). 2. Observe strict discipline: Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be ...disqualified (1 Corinthians 9:25-27). 3. Don’t look back: Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13-14). 4. Get constant encouragement: Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let usrun with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart (Hebrews 12:1-3). 5. Throw off restraints: Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us (Hebrews 12:1). 6. Discount pain: And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me-the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace (Acts 20:22-24). 7. Don’t let up until you cross the line: For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing (2 Timothy 4:6-8).

Please make note of the service times for the next couple of weeks. Because we had to turn some away this last Sunday due to the capacity mandates, beginning on Saturday, March 27 we will add a 5:00 PM service to our normal 10:00 AM one. The Sunday morning service should be available online by 12:45. On Good Friday, we are meeting for communion at 3:00 PM in the sanctuary. No service that Saturday (March 3) and then, for Easter, we have sunrise outside at 6:30 AM, and two services in the sanctuary at 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM. After Easter, our normal schedule will be Saturdays at 5:00 and Sunday at 8:30 and 10:30, at least until the capacity rules change. This is the best time of the year to bring a friend who needs Jesus Christ so be "risky in witness" for the glory and honor of our God!

Thoughts to start the year on.

New service times. Due to the new mandates that came out yesterday, and are going into effect Saturday, we will be moving our live Sunday 5:00 PM service out of the sanctuary to Sunday at 10:00 AM. This live service will be out in the parking lot so bring your beach chair and dress warmly. We will remain having the live service at this time for the foreseeable future. The recorded service will still be up and running on Saturdays at 5:00 PM for those who are more comfortable at home. Blessed are the flexible.

Hi church family. I was writing out my thoughts on the election to share with you when I received the following from Al Mohler. This read is well worth the effort and says much of what I was thinking so why reinvent the wheel? I realize that people will vote according to their convictions, even unbelievers do that. My challenge to you is to ensure your convictions are biblical because they might not be. If they are, we need not fear examining them in light of the Word. This ...article is articulate, truthful, factual and Bible honoring. I encourage you all to read it and then prayerfully check if these things are so. In truth, neither candidate is fit for the office of president. Both are men of low moral character and deceitful. Our responsibility is to pray for each of their salvation for apart from grace all men go from bad to worse. No individual created the current issues of this country. These issues were already there because they dwell in the hearts of all sinful men. What is needed in our land is a turning back to God and salvation in Jesus Christ. God planned ahead for that need and placed you and I here for such a time as this. https://albertmohler.com//christians-conscience-and-the-lo Blessings, P. Scott

We must live out who we are in Christ by focusing on what God has done. In his book called, Victory Over the Darkness, Neil Anderson states the following: Understanding your identity in Christ is absolutely essential to your success at living the victorious Christian life. As we talk this weekend about living by the Spirit keep the following truths in mind. I am accepted because I am God’s child ~ John 1:12... I have been justified ~ Romans 5:1 I have been bought with a price, and I belong to God ~ 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 I have been chosen by God and adopted as His child ~ Ephesians 1:3-8 I have been redeemed and forgiven of all my sins ~ Colossians 1:13-14 I have direct access to the throne of grace through Jesus Christ ~ Hebrews 4:14-16 I am secure because I am free from condemnation ~ Romans 8:1-2 I am assured that God works for my good in all circumstances ~ Romans 8:28 I cannot be separated from the love of God ~ Romans 8:31-39 I am confident that God will complete the good work He started in me ~ Philippians 1:6 I am a citizen of Heaven ~ Philippians 3:20 I am born of God, and the evil one cannot touch me ~ 1 John 5:18 I am significant because I have been chosen and appointed to bear fruit ~ John 15:16 I am God’s temple ~ 1 Corinthians 3:16 I am a minister of reconciliation for God ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 I am seated with Jesus Christ in the heavenly realm ~ Ephesians 2:6 I am God’s workmanship ~ Ephesians 2:10 I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me ~ Philippians 4:1 The first thing we must do if we’re serious about living the Spirit-controlled life is to focus on what God has already done. Come and hear what God has done for you and what He desires to do through you!

Due to the excessive heat we will be having our service tonight in the sanctuary. All of the state mandates will be followed for hygiene, distancing and face coverings. If you are coming you must wear a face covering the entire time in the sanctuary. We have the seats all set up so leave the beach chairs at home. We have made more distance between the rows than was required. Please observe safe distancing and only sit with people who live under your roof. We will have both si...de doors open to allow for plenty of air circulation. Don't worry as we will have the A/C blowing on max. The service starts at 6:00 and will begin with two songs, some time in the Word and close with a song and prayer. When the service ends we will ask that all visiting please take place outside. This will be our fist gathering in the building since April. We will evaluate how we will meet moving forward based upon tonight. I am really excited to gather together as a family in His house once again. Blessings to you all. Please spread the word.

Thomas Brooks "I am His by purchase and I am His by conquest; I am His by donation and I am His by election; I am His by covenant and I am His by marriage; I am wholly His; I am peculiarly His; I am universally His; I am eternally His. Once I was a slave but now I am a son; once I was dead but now I am alive; once I was darkness but now I am light in the Lord; once I was a child of wrath, an heir of hell, but now I am an heir of heaven; once I was Satan’s bond-servant but now I am God’s freeman; once I was under the spirit of bondage but now I am under the Spirit of adoption that seals up to me the remission of my sins, the justification of my person and the salvation of my soul." These are thoughts worth considering!

Have you ever lost a whole day? I was so busy the last two days that I thought today was Wednesday until someone told me at 4 pm that it was Thursday. The weekly email will be one day late and be out tomorrow morning. It will have some information you will want to know as a member of this church. There will be a very special message this weekend intended to help you discern what is happening around you and offer some real hope. It will be posted at 5:00 PM on Saturday or sooner depending on Vimeo.

This weekend's sermon. Stay tuned this week for information about our reopening coming soon.

Dear CBC Family, The video blog is going to revert back to the weekly email. This is due to several factors the most important one being that many in the church do not use Facebook, or social media in general, so they are missing out on the news and information. I have had many requests to go back to the emails for keeping us connected (the participation numbers confirm that email is better). I will still make a video occasionally but the primary means of disseminating infor...mation will be via the email and website. The website will also have the email posted. Please make sure we have your current email so you are not missing out. It is very important that we use the vehicle that can reach the majority of the membership. Things change rapidly and I want to keep you as updated as possible. Blessings to you all. P. Scott
