The San Diego Creative Stitchery Guild Annual Exhibit is now up, at the Carmel Valley library. It will be on display, for the entire month of April. Please, it you have the time, come up and see it in person. The photographs, do not do it justice. Many thanks, to my volunteers, who graciously, took their Saturday morning, to help set it all up. We do not function, without them. God Bless you all.
Visited with La Vera Oberle. She shared her creativity, and her beautiful studio. Items are for sale, with 10%, going to the Guild. PM for more information.
Visited with La Vera Oberle, and had the pleasure, of seeing her creativity, and her magnificent studio. Items are for sale, with 10%, going to the Guild. PM me, for more information.
Alexa, won our prize at the San Diego County Fair last year, for her Dorthy of OZ. She came to our meeting last night, and gave a trunk show of her costumes. The photos do not do her creativity justice. She is absolutely amazing. She will do commission work.

Very interesting article, from the UK, about handmade items, that are disappearing. Very sad indeed....
Taught a class on fabric fusing, with a soldering iron. Every student created a unique, one of a kind piece.
Please try to get to the Bowers Museum, in Santa Ana, CA. This is an exhibit by Guo Pei, a famous Chinese Designer. The embroidery is exquisite, and the photos, really do not do it justice. The exhibit will be there, until July 14, 2019.
Winning recycle entries: Monies from Sandra Durbin, Past President, SDCSG. Vest by Shirley H. Awarded $50.00. Each flower, butterfly, etc, individually cut out, and appliqued, in the red background, and then over sewn, with gold thread. Sadly, the photo does not do the exquisite sewing justice.... Recycled eye glass lens by Sueko D. Awarded $25.00. Made from a broken eyeglasses lens. All materials recycled. The back of the lens, has Japanese embroidery. Not able to photograph the back, because the back is black, and the embroidery is black. Again, the photo does not do the necklace justice. Many, many thanks to all, who entered

It is with a heavy heart, that I have to report, that one of our most talented Fiber Artists, Sueko Duckweiler, has passed away. She and her beautiful handcrafted, one of a kind creations will no longer be created. Please keep her family, in your prayers. Her service, will be for close family only. She always be remembered.
