2020 BLIA Conference Theme Song ~ Connecting Hearts As the earth goes spinning round, Dancing in the night. There’s a new day and Time to make things right.... Words and walls which divide us Fade into the light. Take a step closer, Our future can be bright! Imagine a better, kinder world A new reality. Never wavering or giving up our dreams! CHORUS: I Dream of a beautiful place for us all! Walk hand in hand, Connecting hearts, Together we stand! As the earth goes spinning round, Dancing in the night, There’s a new day and Time to make things right. Words and walls which divide us, Fade in to the light. Today is Ven. Master Hsing Yun’s 94th birthday. Throughout his life, he never wanted his disciples to celebrate his birthday. It is because birthday is the day that our mothers suffered the most. Instead, Ven. Master would like to dedicate this day to everyone to make offerings to the Sangha. Thus, every year, we have Sangha Day/Month. May this merit be dedicated to everyone. May Ven. Master has good health. We would like to thank everyone for the support! #MasterHsingYun

Fo Guang Shan Online English Dharma Chanting Service This Week’s Prayer: A Prayer for Senior Citizens... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhgaG3u06VI&ab This Week’s Topic: Buddhist Meditation (1): The Prerequisite of Morality Speaker: Venerable Hui Cheng FGS Qishan Temple https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10YOLM33kUo&ab What comes to your mind when you think of "meditation?" Sitting on a cushion and closing your eyes? That's only one part of it! In this new mini-series, Venerable Hui Cheng explains a holistic approach to meditation by looking at this practice under the guidance of the Threefold Training: Morality, Meditation, and Wisdom. The Threefold Training addresses three corresponding levels of the mind, physical and verbal acts, active mental actions or manifestations, and latent or subconscious tendencies. It is recommended that one begins working on morality as an entry point into the Threefold Trainings, since our actions and speech are easily identified and addressed. Tune in and listen to how we can practice morality in our daily life, and how it is a prerequisite cultivation of meditation.
